Jesus tempted with suicide?

Matthew 4:5. “Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. “If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down. For it is written:

“‘He will command his angels concerning you,
and they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’[c]””

I don’t think many people realize when reading this verse, that Satan was literally telling Jesus to go and kill himself. In fact I hadn’t, my friend had to point it out to me.

Jesus was tempted till the point of death, even before he went to go, and die on the Cross.  So, God understands for all of you who struggle with thoughts of suicide,  Satan took him there too. So many different images may have consumed Jesus’s mind as well, our God in the flesh dealt with everything under the sun. So Jesus understands what it’s like for you, whether you are a follower of God or not, he gets how hard the struggle to resist the temptation of death is. But Jesus was able to overcome the temptation of death, and so can you.

I pray that the power of God will consume you all, and that you will overcome the battle of just merely living. That God will fill you up with His glorious hope, joy, happiness, peace, that your life truly does have meaning. I pray that God will fill you with the hope,  that if Satan was telling our Messiah to go and kill himself before his appointed time, just how great your destiny must be as well. You must be so great in the kingdom of heaven, when God created you, He must have planned such a great promise, that Satan wants you dead before your appointed time too. So, God please fill them with the Power of the Holy Spirit. Our God who did not stay dead on that Cross, but rose again, I pray that you may bring a resurrection within these peoples heart, mind, soul, and body. May you show them the truth in all circumstances, and how their life, just like yours was, is worth living.

There is nothing that God doesn’t understand, this is a cliché term that the church uses, that has been dumped down a lot, I know. But there is so much truth in it. Believe siblings, and keep with the fight! I will be praying for you!
